Lone senatorial candidate of the Partido Demokratiko-Sosyalista ng Pilipinas

Moner is running under the banner of the Partido Demokratiko-Sosyalista ng Pilipinas. After having been erroneously disqualified by the Commission on Elections, the poll body finally reconsidered his candidacy for the Senate and is now listed fourth in the amended certified list of candidates for the May 14, 2001 elections. Aside from the PDSP, Moner was also adopted by other political organizations seeking party-list representation in the House of Representatives.

Among these political organizations is the Sanlakas party of the late Felimon "Ka Popoy" Lagman.
