Moner's candidacy is anchored on the program of peace. He said his involvement in the peace process and his personal experience in the affairs of the people of Mindanao will give him the unique opportunity to "make our dream of peace a reality."

"I believe in the democratic system, and my joining the electoral process is a manifestation of my commitment in upholding the voice and will of our people," Moner said.

He promised to pursue a change in the character of Philippine politics. "A change that will be based on platform and program of government rather than on personality and patronage. A change of politics that will earn respect and dignity for our people, and prepare us for the challenges of the new age," Moner stressed.
